Who Knew?

If anyone had told me that when I was 28, I would experience utter joy from such simple things as cooking breakfast with my husband or playing with my son, I think I may have laughed in disbelief.

But those have become two of my favorite things to do lately. Many people just assume that the wife does the cooking in most relationships. I have been extremely blessed to have a partner who actually splits responsiblities with me.

Most days, Bruce and I wait until Alan is asleep to get in the kitchen and bang out dinner.
Some times, Alan jumps in his Johnny Jump Up or sits and plays with his toys while I get preparations made before Bruce gets home. (This is the more rare occurrence!)
He loves this time. Probably be cause of all of the movement. The fact that I have lively music playing doesn't hurt either!

I do realize that I am extremely blessed with a child that is very laid back. I thank God for this every night when Bruce and I go check on him before we go to sleep.
