 Christmas 2010
(6 months old stats: 19lbs 6 oz, 28 in)

The holiday celebrations started off a little rocky...
Or should I say, a little "toothy".

We got in the car on the morning of the 18th to head to Grenada for a visit with my family before Christmas. Alan was fine all morning at home. He was cheerful,
his usual happy self. But by the time we got to Grenada, he started making an AWFUL face! Come to find out he had a tooth breaking through. Poor little guy.
He was in rare form all weekend.

And anyone who was around Bruce and me can testify that we were in rare form as well. I didn't know what to do to help the little guy. Luckily we had Tylenol, so that helped to ease some of his discomfort. He didn't eat well, which since i am still nursing, added to my stress and discomfort as well. Luckily, the tooth has broken through, and he seems to be feeling a bit better.

Rankin County School District was still in school on Monday and Tuesday, so I had to go back to work after our weekend in Grenada. Bruce had taken some time off so he was able to keep Alan at home with him on Friday, the 17th and that following Monday, the 20th. They had a wonderful time. I got pictures via email all day. Bruce is a wonderful daddy. He just loves that little boy. I think Alan knows it, because he just lights up when Bruce comes in the room!

The Ulrich family traditions began Tuesday, the 21st.
We made our Gingerbread Houses again this year.
Glen and Emily, your house was BEAUTIFUL! Hats off to you on such a fete!

Here are a couple of pictures from the Gingerbread House building.

Alan woke up amidst the commotion and was astonished by the sights of things!
He had a cat nap and was ready to play!

Bruce went to work on Wednesday and was miserable... so he decided to stay home on Thursday. I am so glad he did, because he was able to get the rest he needed to enjoy the rest of the holidays! I went out on Thursday morning to get more Kleenex (Bruce was running through the half box we had left.) and Children's Tylenol. Alan picked up the crud that Bruce did. Coughing and sneezing constantly.

On Christmas Eve, we went to Bruce's parents house for soup, the Christmas story, and carols. We had a great time! Jonathan added to the night by reading a book from his childhood to Samantha and Isaac. I couldn't get over the fact that he still had The Night before Christmas storybook from his childhood!

Just like the last time, Alan woke up just as the events were wrapping up. He slept through all the piano playing and singing. But the pesky cough got the best of him!

Bruce and I really enjoyed our Christmas morning at home!
Alan was such a hoot. We decided to go small with Alan's first Christmas
and we are so... glad we did.
He had a great time with all of the paper and ribbon.
I know next year will be an absolute BLAST!
